University of Puget Sound - April 16 & 17, 2008

The blood drive at the University of Puget Sound (UPS) was a huge success. Over the two-day drive, we had 146 people register to donate blood. We also had 51 first time donors!

Over the years, UPS has made a huge contribution to our community’s blood supply and patients in our area hospitals by regularly conducting drives for Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS). Vital to the success of the drive was the fraternity Phi Delta Theta. Community Service Chairs Cory Dunn and Mike Pannier (pictured below) were instrumental in coordinating the blood drive.

During the sign-up process, Cory and Mike were amazed to see how many people were willing to help out. CRBS is extremely grateful for the generosity of the students at the University of Puget Sound.

The University of Puget Sound is an important institution in Pierce County and is recognized throughout the country. Senator Hillary Clinton spoke at the University in February during her campaign visit to the state of Washington. The University of Puget Sound is also recognized for its athletic accomplishments. The school has received back to back All-Sports Trophy awards in the Northwest Conference. The school also has the biggest Hawaiian luau on the West Coast!

Above all, the University of Puget Sound and the Phi Delta Theta fraternity are committed to community service around the Tacoma area.
